The 15 minute consultation is a time for both of us to see if we are a good therapeutic fit. It is a time for you to ask any specific questions you have for me.
How it works: I will call you at the time we have scheduled. We’ll talk about what you are seeking from therapy. I’ll ask you some questions to make sure that you’re getting help from the right place. If it feels like a good fit for both of us, we’ll move forward and schedule from there. -
It really comes down to feeling and expertise. There is an intangible “click” that happens when you find the right therapist. You feel truly seen. You feel like you can finally breathe. Part of this comes from personality connection, and part of this comes from knowing that you can trust the expertise of your therapist. You’ll know if I’m a good fit by the way you feel and by ensuring my trained specialty aligns with your needs.
Research shows that “fitting” with a therapist is the biggest indicator for if therapy works for you. It is crucial for me to make sure you are in the right place. If I believe that I wouldn’t be able to provide the help you need, I will provide referrals to other clinicians which may be a better fit.

Online therapy offers you access to therapy in the comfort of your office, home or wherever you feel most comfortable meeting. You will receive a confidential HIPAA compliant link to your phone and/or email prior to the start of your scheduled session where we will meet via video conference. All that is needed is a computer or mobile device, high-speed internet, and headphones for added privacy. This offers a convenient way to meet with your therapist without having to commute!

I do not take commercial insurance, however I do have a limited number of appointment times available for clients who have Medicaid in Colorado.

My current rate is $190/55 minute individual session.
I recognize that therapy is an investment. Let’s create a plan together so you work on what is most important to you in a time period that fits your budget. -
During our 50-60 minute intake appointment, I will discuss a little more about my approach to therapy and set expectations so that you do not feel left in the dark wondering what is next. We will review intake paperwork and answer any questions you may have about the therapeutic process, then we will use the remainder of the session gathering history about you and setting goals with our work together. By the end of the first session, we will have a more clear idea and understanding of what you want to work on and how we will proceed moving forward.

If we see each other in town, I let you decide whether you would like to interact. I’m always happy to say hello, but the choice is completely up to you!
What happens in the therapy session stays in the therapy session. I value your privacy and will not disclose information about our sessions without a signed Release of Information form.
There are a few exceptions of confidentiality which include:
Suspected child abuse or dependent adult or elder abuse, for which I am required by law to report this to the appropriate authorities immediately.
If a client is threatening serious bodily harm to another person/s, I must notify the police and inform the intended victim.
If a client intends to harm himself/herself/zirself, I will make every effort to enlist their cooperation in ensuring their safety. If they do not cooperate, I will take further measures without their permission that are provided to me by law in order to ensure their safety. -
Length of therapy varies from client to client. After our intake appointment, we will identify what goals you want to work towards and that will guide the therapeutic process. Most clients I work with benefit from working together a minimum of 6 months, and some clients prefer to continue to work together on a long term basis. For established clients, I am open to scheduling maintenance or “booster” sessions per the client’s desire or needs.
